Origins of Yoga: Today's society is much faster than before. People have more stress problems that lead to more health, mental and physical problems. There is more concern with toxicity in the food we eat and the air we breathe. Millions of Americans today live with erratic lifestyles, which are associated with obesity. The body, the cavity of our soul, is not intended to deteriorate in such a way that it leads to disease. Yoga was developed more than 5,000 years ago in India and includes spiritual beliefs, physical techniques, and scientific philosophy.

There is a growing trend for practicing Yoga for various reasons, which include achieving body or physical yoga, relaxation and peace of mind, or to prevent injury and illness. Americans especially practice Hatha Yoga, which focuses on body posture and stretching.

Yoga, which comes from the sacred Sanskrit language of India, which means "union or use". Yoga is the way or path to transcendence and liberation from self and ego by purifying the mind and body. Practicing yoga leads to union with mind and body or individual and universal consciousness. In other words, yoga is a union with the Individual Self and the Universal Self. Yoga precedes all other religions and has influenced and inspired many other traditions and philosophies. Yoga is better understood as a union of physical, physiological, mental, emotional, and intellectual bodies, which leads to a directed and balanced life.

There are no other disciplines that are quite like yoga because yoga utilizes the body, mind, and spirit, all in one exercise. Yoga is indeed a spiritual path based on ancient holy philosophy, but people do not need to make ethical decisions when practicing yoga, but finding your own path is fully accepted. The holistic benefits of yoga are suitable for young or old people, sick or healthy, with any religious background. The secret of yoga is mind, concentration, and purification of mind and body with mind and cleansing food. Indian philosophy states that in man is a spirit which is the center of everything.
